"Wimpy" is in

A flick with mixed reviews is more interesting to evaluate than those that are largely critically acclaimed. There's less pressure to like it even if you didn't.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid is one such film. Ebert, whom I'd rather believe than others, says it's "nimble, bright and funny. It doesn't dumb down. It doesn't patronize. It knows something about human nature." The others, meanwhile, are mean.

Judging the book by its cover, or a movie by its poster, I think Wimpy is something I'd like to watch and anticipate. Its posters, after all, are the most amusing and loyal (to original material) I've seen in a while. It should make for an amusing movie as well.
